Mr. JAMES M. RAY died last Friday night at this place.  Mr. Ray was practically 
the founder of our town but moved in 1878 to Johnson County, Texas, where he 
has lived until a few weeks ago when he was stricken with dropsy and realizing 
his condition eh came, with his wife, at once to his old home, where his death 
bed might be made as easy and comfortable as possible by his two devoted sons 
at this place.
