This cemetery is now beside the Concord United Baptist, formerly Concord Primitive 
Baptist, at the intersection of AL highway 75 & Old McVille Road. Please note 
that these families use SLATON and SLATEN interchangeably.)

(Cicero J is known to have married Lucinda Belew Nov 12, 1883, 
after a first marriage to cousin Sarah Slaton.  He is a son of 
George Pinckney and Charity (Vastie) Slaton, George P being the 
4th known son of Lovin & Mary (Clardy) Slaton.)

(Robert F may be the Robert recorded as Cicero's son in census records. 
Another son of Cicero, Joseph G, is buried at Hillcrest near Boaz.)
 
(Henry D, is known to have married Sarah CRANFORD or CRAWFORD, Jackson 
Co AL, BkA#382, 1865-08-17. Henry D is the 10th known son of Wade and 
Mary (Tucker) Slaton. Wade is suspected to be the brother of Lovin mentioned above.) 
 
(Newt W is known to be Newton Willis, son of Henry D. Bertha is Newt's daughter) 

(J L is known to by John L, son of Henry D and is thought to have lived 
with Rebecca, his sister, but there is some census evidence that he may 
have married.) 

(Down Old McVille Road to the New Canaan Cemetery in DeKalb, are other 
descendants of Henry D's son George W Slaton)
