Marshall County AlArchives Cemeteries.....Noble Red Hill Cemetery - Complete Survey ************************************************ Copyright. Directions: From the intersection of Highway 278 & Highway 231, take 231N to Blount Co Rd 25; turn right. The name of this road changes to Warrenton Road when it crosses the county line. Red Hill UMC is on the right a mile or two past the county line. There is a road next to it marked Noble Red Hill Cemetery Road. This road leads to the cemetery and a hay field behind the church. From Arab, take Fry Gap Road to the end; turn right onto Warrenton Road. The church will be a mile or two down on the left. There are 26 stones that are either totally illegible, or simply field stones marking a grave with no writing on them. There are 14 more that have sunk too far into the ground to tell if they had writing originally or not. Many of the buried stones are near newer looking stones that could be 'replacements', as they don't look weathered enough to be 50-80 years old. Sign at entrance reads; "Noble Red Hill Cemetery Est 1839 Land by Billy Boling sign by Conrad H & Ruth B St. John" KEY: "T" = Some stones were so hard to read and had to be traced with the fingers to read them. FMH = Funeral Home Marker only. MM = Military marker. (None of the CSA markers have dates on them.) s/a = Same stone as, occupants shareing one stone.
