Before TVA built the Guntersville Dam and created a lake, the cemetery was part of a small community built around a popular crossing area for Town Creek. A mill of some kind was located there and families lived in the area. No evidence of this life remains there now except for the cemetery. A hike of 2-3 hours is required. I had been told that there were 5-7 graves, one with a birthdate listed as "sometime in the 1700's. A park employee, Bruce Berry recently hiked to the cemetery. He only found the two markers as listed below: William S. Kirby Co. C 1st Ala & Tenn Vidette Cav. Sept. 4, 1928 A second marker without a name - date Sept. 4, 1931
