Betty Lee Anderton, 93 She never went to a doctor and didn't believe in taking medicine, but Betty Lee Anderton was still able to keep house for herself until she died Sunday in her home at Grant. She was 93. She was the widow of Charlie Anderton, who died in 1947. She had lived just about all her life on Grant Mountain or in the Hebron community. After his death she lived in a trailer next to the home of a niece, Oma Parks. At times some of her relatives stayed with her and looked after her. She was a member of the Grassy Mountain Free Holiness Church at Mt. Pleasant. She enjoyed quilting until her eyes got too bad. She is survived by 2 of her sons, Rev. Billy Anderton of Scottsboro and Howard Anderton of Huntsville; 4 daughters, Mrs. Maude Morton of Rossville, Ga., Mrs. Vera Caldwell of Buck Island, Mrs. Estell Brazelton of Gunters- ville and Mrs. Lila Godson of Ft. Oglethorpe, Ga.; 22 grandchildren; a number of great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Mary Saint of Grant; a brother, Watson Ledbetter of Grant; and a half-brother, Thomas Anderton of Grant. Her funeral was Tuesday at the Scottsboro Funeral Home with Rev. Charlie Guinn and Rev. Eli Smith officiating. Burial was in Walker Cemetery near Hebron. Grandsons were pallbearers.
