Birmingham News, Feb 19, 1938, Obituary Files, Alabama State Archives, Montgomery Al
Guntersville - Funeral services for Mrs. Martha Jane Black, aunt of Supreme Court 
Justice Hugo L. Black, who died here Monday night, were held today with burial in 
Lathamville Cemetery. She is survived by three sonz, Sam Black, of Guntersville; 
H.B. Black, of Crossville; and J.E. Black, of Delhi, La; five daughters, Mrs. T.H. 
Griffin and Mrs. T.L. McDaniel, both of Crossville; Mrs. Felix Graham, of Flat 
Rock, Ala., and Mrs. W.J. Saylors and Mrs. J.T. Alverson, both of Birmingham; 55 
grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren.
