He was 78 and had been a deacon of the Primitive Baptist church for 43 years. Born in Randolph County, he was first married to Miss Mary McCrary when he was 19. After her death he came to Marshall County where he married Mrs. Mary Jane Dendy in 1903. His funeral was held Friday at Rocky Mt. church by Elder Haden Copeland assisted by Rev Herman Wilson of Whitesville and Rev H S Brannum of Guntersville. Drinkards of Arab were in charge, Pruitt directing. The pallbearers were Wade Howell, Jack Rutherford, Raymond Carter, John Harden, Foster Hughes and Oley McWhorter. He is survived by 3 daughters, Mrs. Betty Rhinehart, Lawrenceburg, Tenn; Mrs. Inez Hutchison and Mrs. Camilla Hughes, Arab; 3 stepchildren, Mrs. Alma Chastain, Guntersville; Otis Dendy, Horton, and Clyde Dendy, Gadsden; 7 grandchildren, and 20 step-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Mrs. Ada Cobb, Albertville; Mrs. Fanny Wright, Boaz, and a brother, Joe Bohannon of Cullman.
