The Guntersville Gleam
Mrs. Martha C. Burroughs died Tuesday at the home of her granddaughter, Mrs. H. 
J. Hodgens of Free Home, near Grant, following a long illness. Born in Randolph 
County in 1860, she came to this county many years ago. She was a member of the 
Baptist church. Burial was in the Free Home cemetery with Drinkard's in charge. 
Survivors are a daughter-in-law, Mrs. J. L. Burroughs, Grant; 5 grandchildren and 
12 great grandchildren. Pallbearers were grandsons and great grandsons: Oscar 
Burroughs, Beamon Ledbetter, Joe Henry Sparks and Roy Burroughs.
