('Beneath Southern Sod' by Armistead & Moffet, 1964 verifies the name of this cemetery as Newell.) At 2200 Wolfridge Road, Mobile, Al There is a company called Texas Pipe Supply. Past their main entrance is the truck entrance. The road has no name. Go through the broken chain link gate and turn into the woods on the dirt trail to the left. Follow the trail around to a clearing. The cemetary is on the left. Large azalea bushes are inside the fence. It appears that the plot is maintained by surviving loved ones of those intered. This listing is complete as of March 23, 2001, when I surveyed the cemetery and recorded these tombstones. There are 23 visible burials. All are readable and only one is overturned. I was able to lift it long enough to read the inscription and placed it back just as I found it. I have taken the liberty of adding information in () parenthesis of which I have personal knowledge from my genealogy research, {} brackets is information from Mobile Probate Court Marriage Records, [] square brackets is information from the Mobile Register Obituary Column, or ({}) parenthesis brackets is information from other sources. Those individuals entered with (*#1) behind the name do not have a headstone. That individual's information was taken from funeral home records or sent to me via e-mail from family members. Any information in this listing that is not on the tombstone will always be found with a designating mark.
