File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Pam Long ==================================================================== May 1999 Surveyed April 10, 1999, updated May 29, 1999 by Pamela Hosey Long and Ray Howell. LOCATION: This small cemetery is located at the intersection of Highways 188 and 193 very close to where Mobile Bay spills into the Gulf of Mexico. LATITUDE AND LONGITUDE: 30º 22' 19" N and 88º 14' 04" W. DESCRIPTION: It is a well-maintained family cemetery, but over the years unrelated individuals have also been buried here. We've tried to describe briefly the marker and any slab or other distinguishing feature of each grave site. Where a married couple had a double marker, we noted that. There were numerous infant graves, many of which were marked with slabs but not inscribed. We were lucky that one of the members of the Garity family, Terry Garity, stopped by when he saw us, and explained some of the relationships. We've included his helpful remarks. On our trip in May we also brought Clyde Sprinkle, a long-time resident of the community, to verify our notes and to fill in missing data on some of the unmarked and uninscribed graves. They were "Dauphin Island people."] Shirley Ann and Sheila Kay MERCHANT, born Oct. 2, 1979 "Thinking of you."
