Powell and files her petition in writing verified by affidavit, alleging therein that she is the widow of Jesse Powell, who died June 29, 1912 in Mobile County, Alabama; that no administration has been has upon the said decedent's estate, and that more than 60 [60]days have elapsed since the death of the said decedent; that the said decedent left no minor children, but left the following adult heirs, Vis: Mary J. Vickers, Maria Tully, Eugene Powell, Zona Foster, Lizzie Waltman, Marie Powell, Lonnie Newbill, and two minors, Adam Powell, aged 16 years, and Nettie Powell, aged 13 years, said minors being the children of a deceased son of said of said decedent; that the said decedent left the following described real property lying in the county of Mobile, Alabama, Vis: - The N.E.1/4 of Section 4, Township 3 South of Range 3 West; That said real property constituted all of the real property owned by said decedent; that the same does not exceed in value two thousand ($2,000.00) dollars, or in area one hundred sixty acres (160), that the same was occupied and used by the said decedent as his homestead, and since his death has been used continuously, and up to the present time used by petitioner as her homestead; that said decedent left personal property consisting of household effects and farming tools and implements and equipment and that the value of the same does not exceed one thousand ($1,000.00) dollars. And praying the court to appoint commissioners to make a full and complete inventory and appraisment of the real and personal property of the said Jesse Powell deceased, and if said property, real and personal does not exceed in amount and value the exemption allowed her as such widow, that the same be set aside to her as exempt, and the title thereto, vested absolutely in her. It is therefore ordered that the 15th day of November 1913, be set as a day to hear and determine all matters partaining to said petition. It is further ordered that each of the aforesaid adult next of kin of the said Jesse Powell, deceased, be notified of this proceeding and of the day above set for hearing this matter, by citation to be served upon them at least- ten days prior to the said 15th day of November 1913. It is further ordered that T.T. Shepard, a competant and proper person be and is hereby appointed guardian ad litan? to represent the minors, Adam Powell and Nettie Powell in this Proceeding, and that he have notice of his appointment and be properly prepared to contest the same on behalf of said minors. And the court adjourned. Additional Comments: Jesse Powell married Sarah E. Foster m. 4/2/1869 Mobile Co, Ala. He was b. 1/1851 d. 6/29/1912. Sarah was b. 12/1852 d. 9/24/1928. Jesse was the son of Hiram Powell and Mary Jane Scarborough m. 9/26/1849 Mobile Sarah E. Foster was the daughter of Jacob Foster and Mary "Maria" Sanford m. Covington Co, MS Jesse and Sarah had the following children = Mary Jane (Jennie) m. George W. Vickers 7/14/1885 Mobile Mariah Rosetta m. George Tully 11/24/1893 Mobile Louis Franklin m. Margaret Elizabeth "Lizzie" Crabtree 2/18/1897 (father of Adam and Nettie)he d. 3/26/1912 same yr as his father Jesse Eugene Alcane m. Virginia Belle Crabtree 12/2/1899 Mobile Cazada b.1880 ??
