THE STATE OF ALABAMA,} County of Mobile } Personally appeared before me, Price Williams Jr. judge of Probate in and for said County, Mrs. Mary Vickers who, being duly sworn, says that her husband, Drury Vickers was a private in Company I of 12th regiment of Alabama Infantry; That he came to his death or disease contracted in the service of the Confederate States, and that his death occurred within five years thereafter; That she has not since re-married; that she was a resident of Alabama on the 13th day of Feburary, 1891, and is a resident at the date of this application; and that her taxable property does not exceed four hundred dollars in value. sworn to and subscribed before me this ...22 day of April 1893} Mary(her mark) Vickers..applicant. THE STATE OF ALABAMA,} county of Mobile} I hereby certify that satisfactory proof has been made before me of the truth of the allegations set forth in the above affidavit, and that I believe Mrs. Mary Vickers, is entitled to relief under the Act approved Feburary 13th, 1891 anf that the duplicate of the foregoing application and affidavit is on file in my office. Pg. 2 STATE OF ALABAMA} County of Mobile } to the Honorable Board of Examiners of said county; Your petitioner, Mary Alice Vickers, respectfully represents to your Honorable Board, that she is a citizen of Mobile County, in the State of Alabama, and was such on the 1st day of January 1899; That she is the Widow of Andrew J. Vickers, who served as a Private in Company I of the 12th Regiment Alabama Infantry Volunteers; That he did not desert the service of the State of Alabama, nor the Confederate States. That she has not since remarried, that she has no children upon whom she can depend for support, that all of her property do not exceed four hundred dollars in value, and that her annual income from all sources do not exceed four hundred dollars. She therefore respectfully asks your Honorable board to place her name upon the pension rolls of the State as a member of the first class, that she may participate in the division of the fund provided for the relief of needy Confederate soldiers and sailors, and their widows, by an act of the General Assembly of Alabama, approved February 10th 1899. A hand written statement from her doctor} Wilmer Alabama Feb.18th 1910 This is to certify that for the last 3 years I have attended Mrs Mary Alice Vicars, and knowing her physical condition I deem it extremely undesirable for her to undertake to travel any distance especially being 8 or 10 miles and most especially in cold weather. Vickers (b. 1831 Henry Co,ALA)and Mary Alice Kidd (b.1828 LA) were married in Mobile County Alabama July 14, 1859. They had 2 children Mary Elizabeth b. abt 1861 and George W. b.1/7/1865. Andrew J. Vickers was the son of Samuel Vickers b.1792 GA d. 1860 Mobile Co,AL Andrews siblings were Benjamine, Joel, John, Delila and Louisa Vickers. (Census, 1850 Santa Rosa Co,2nd Div.FLA) Samuel was the son of Joel Vickers of Montgomery Co, GA then Henry Co, Ala.
