He was a Confederate Veteran. He is survived by his wife, Emmaline Wheeler Creel, five sons, Augustus, John, Robert L., Thomas L., and Rufus Creel; three daughters; Mrs. J.B. Gerwert, Mrs. J. R. Tillman and Mrs. William I. Tillman, 33 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; four brothers, Albert Creel of Clara, Miss; Grant Creel of Opp, Ala; John and James Creel of Meridian, Miss; Mrs. Martha White and Mrs. Mary Martin of Ovett, Miss and other relatives. The funeral will be held this afternoon at 4 O'clock from the residence and at 4:30 pm at the Magnoilia Baptist Church at Theodore and the interment will be in the Cemetery there at Theodore. Austin Wheeler was the son of old Simeon Wheeler and his wife was Catherine McLemore, they moved to Mobile Co. Al, from Perry or Greene Co., Miss, she was related to the McLemores from Jones and Lauderdale Co., Miss.
