Davis and Tabitha Davis his wife of the one part and Edmon Watley of the other part all of County and state aforesaid~ Wsitnesseth that we the said John R. Davis and Tabitha Davis hath for and in the consideration of the sum of eight hundred Dollars to us in hand paid by the named Edmon Watley hath bargained sold and do by these presents bargain, sell, release and confirm unto the said Edmon Watley a certain track or parcel of land bounded and butted as follows being the [NE 1/4 and NW 1/4 and NW 1/4 of the SW1/4 and the SW 1/4 of the SW and the SW 1/4 of NE 1/4 of Section No 8 in Township No. 9 Range No 8} containing 140 63&1/2/100 acres situated in the County of Monroe and the District of land offered for sale at the land office at Cahaba, the --- whereof we the said John R. Davis and Tabitha Davis, his wife our heirs, executors, administrators and assigns do forever warrant and defend unto the said Edmond Whatley to his heirs, and against the lawful claims of any persons, whatsoever, Together with all the improvements and priviledges belonging in witness whereof we have hereunto this the second of June set our hands and seals in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty.
