Burnt Corn
Written: June 19, 1826

This letter is submitted to try to help reconstruct the missing land records 
for Monroe and Conecuh counties.  It is from the papers of Judge James Dellet 
of Dellet Park Plantation,Claiborne, Monroe County which now belong to me.  I 
hope it will prove useful in helping to reconstruct the destroyed or otherwise 
missing records.

                 Sir,
                     I understand that you have some idea of setling in this 
neighborhood, and that you have written to Capt. Hayes on the subject of 
buying his place.
     I take the liberty to offer my place to you.  I will take less than I 
gave for it, and it is cleared out of the office.  I have 4 quarter sections, 
& about 120 acres of cleared land.  I will make the payments to suit you, if 
you will buy.
