Much timber was felled and the roads are blocked. The hail which was severe in places did considerable damage to crops that were just coming up. In Peterman we learn that an old Negro, Lewis Stanton, who was caught in the storm was killed by a falling tree, while further east near Finklea, Mr. Henry Salter and his mother, who were driving in the direction of Tunnel Springs were crushed to death beneath a falling tree and the two small children of Mr. Salter were painfully injured. We have heard of no other casualties as a result of the storm.
