Simmons, also of Frisco, on Monday afternoon. Trouble between the two men is said to have arisen over a case in the Justice of the Peace Court, and the cutting affray grew out of the testimony of one against the other. Physicians say Byrds' chance for recovery are slight. In the meanwhile, Simmons was brought to the county jail by J.P. Farrish to await the action of the Fall jury.
