In the front row, center, is James Hardy O’Gwynn, with his grandchildren, William Hardy Davison, Mary Inez Davison Farmer, and James Miller Davison. In the back row John Nichols Davison and Minnie Inez O’Gwynn Davison are shown. John N. Davison was the son of William Miller Davison and Missouri Powell Davison. He was killed in 1904 in Montgomery on the railroad. Minnie Inez O’Gwynn Davison was the daughter of Mes. Hardy O’Gwynn and Martha A. Bell O’Gwynn. William Hardy married Yvonne Frazer, who lives in Mobile; Mary Inez Davison married Percy Hennington Farmer (now deceased) and resides in Ferriday, La., They were the parents of three children, William Percy Farmer, Nettie Farmer Green, and John Edward Farmer. James Miller Davison married Birdie Carline Jones. They are the parents of three daughters and reside in Magnolia Springs. Their daughters are Elizabeth Inez Davison Hall of Magnolia Springs, Juanita Marie Davison Palmer of Cupertino, Calif., and Hazel Louise Davison Windham of Baton Rouge, La." Mrs. Vitalis Sawyer Baas was born in 1875 and died in 1957. She was married to James Harrison Baas, who was born near Mobile, the son of Joseph and Margariet Baas, who migrated from France to Mobile." Holding his grandson, Edgar Williamson, on his knee. The lady in the picture is the mother of Mrs. D. D. Mims, now living on South Mt. Pleasant Street in Monroeville and a former schoolteacher." Page 37, photograph caption (photo not available) "Excel Residents –Mr. and Mrs. Monroe Burkett, residents of Excel, moved to Monroe County in April of 1896. Mrs. Jannie Burkett lived with them and is shown in this picture made at their home about a mile and a half west of Excel. They were the parents of twelve children. Living members are Jim Burkett of Akron, Ohio; Alice Jenkins, Excel; Ada Roberson of Mobile; Addie Fails of Excel; Jessie Burkett of Akron, Ohio; Mattie Luker of Excel; Clara Jenking [sic] of Akron and Gladys Black of Akron."
