Unmarked Graves There are quite a few unmarked graves in this cemetery. The following names are the only ones that have been verified by family members and the family history book "Youngblood – Armstrong and Allied Families" by Frances Youngblood and Floelle Youngblood Armstrong, as being buried in this cemetery. James McDade, died 1820 and was the first to be buried in Manning Springs Cemetery. He is buried next to his son, James McDade, who is buried in the above ground tomb. He had requested that upon his death he be buried under a big oak tree in the cemetery. The tree has since been removed. James was a Revolutionary War Soldier. Charles McDade, son of James above. Born Abt. 1784 and died March 10, 1839. Charles was a War of 1812 veteran and on Sunday afternoon, Jun 22, 1930, more than one hundred and fifteen years after he fought with General Andrew Jackson at the historic battle of New Orleans, the State of Alabama officially recognized his war record., with patriotic memorial services held in the old cemetery. A bronze marker bearing his name and services was placed on his grave and has since disappeared. Adeline Edna Fields McDade, wife of Charles McDade, the War of 1812 veteran. Born about 1790, died August 28, 1874 at her home near Mt. Meigs, Alabama. Mary McDade Cloud, daughter of Charles and Adeline McDade. Born about 1809, died September 4, 1838. She was the wife of Henry George Washington Cloud. Elizabeth McDade Jolly, daughter of Charles and Adeline McDade. Born about 1812, died March 1851. She was wife of Richard Jolly. Scott Jolly, son of Richard and Elizabeth McDade Jolly, Born about 1849 and died an infant. William Winfield Scott McDade, son of James Wilkins and Nancy Elizabeth (McDade) McDade and husband of Nancy Lulu (Long) McDade. Born Jan 5, 1858, died Oct 3, 1911. Dr. James Madison McDade, son of Charles and Cynthia (Willis) McDade, and husband of Sarah "Sallie" Adeline (McDade) McDade. Born Dec 31, 1846, died Jun 23, 1915. Two small children, said to be the children of Will McDade.
