For the purpose of obtaining the benefits of the act entitled an act for the 
relief of certain surviving officers and soldiers of the army of the revolution 
approved of the 15th May 1828.  I Peter Bozeman of the county of Montgomery in 
the state of Alabama do hereby declare that I enlisted in the Continental Line 
of the Army of the Revolution for and during the war and continued in its 
service until its termination at which period I was a private in Captain 
Richard Masons company in the second regiment of the South Carolina Line and I 
also declare that I never ^ afterwards received a certificate? for the reward 
of eighty dollars to which I was entitled under a resolve of congress f f ? the 
15th of May 1778.
 
And I further declare that I was not on the 15th day of May 1828 on the pension 
list of the United States/
....my hand this fourth day of October in the year 1828

the state of Alabama personally appeared this day.

soldier in the army of the revolution in manner as thereas stated

I John Moody, Clerk of the County Court of the county of Montgomery in the 
state of Alabama do hereby certify that Anderson Hatley before whereas the 
foregoing affidavits where sworn was at the time a justice of the peace and 
duly empowered to administer oaths 
 
in testimony where of I have here unto set my hand and affixed the seal of the 
said court this fourth day of October in the year of 1828.

Additional Comments:
Peter was born about 1758 probably in Bladen NC and found in 1790 census of 
Darlington SC.

some words in this handwritten document are difficult to transcribe and it also 
has the F whenever two ss appear in a word such as congrefs.  His sons, 
William, Jesse, Peter are found on the 1830 census of Montgomery Alabama along 
with his daughter Lucy Campbell. His son Meady lived in nearby Dallas County 
and all appear on the Estate Sale, including his widow Sarah.  Jesse's 
tombstone was found in Hope Hull, Montgomery, AL where they owned 160 acres and 
perhaps the others are also buried there.
