“Miss Carrie C. Allen Dies At Home Here
   Carrie Cater Allen of 1936 Bullard St., the aunt of Mrs. A. F. Delchamps 
Sr., whose husband owns a food store chain in Alabama, died in a local 
hospital yesterday.
    The Mobile grocer owns Delchamps Inc. with five stores located in 
Montgomery.
    Funeral services for Miss Allen will be held Sunday at 330 p.m. from White 
Chapel and burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.”

Page 13, column 1:

“Allen, Miss Carrie Cater, a life-long resident of Montgomery, died in a local 
hospital at 8 a.m. Friday after a long illness.  Surviving are three nephews, 
Frank B. Stringer, Montgomery, Allen Crowell, Mobile, and John R. Stringer of 
Nashville, Tenn.; three nieces, Mrs. Thad Rogers, Pensacola, Fla., Miss 
Lillian Crowell, Mobile, and Mrs. A. F. Delchamps Sr., of Mobile.  The funeral 
will e held from White Chapel Sunday at 3:30 p.m. with the Rev. Robert Vaughn 
officiating, with burial in Oakwood Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be W. C. 
Goodwin, S. B. Goodwin, W. W. Riley, Dean Shaw Jr., Cleveland Dykes and Wiley 
W. Powell.”
