DEATH CLAIMS T.C. BINGHAM Sr.; Father of Roanoke Young Men Passes Away in 
Birmingham.

Thomas Cooke Bingham of Montgomery, secretary and treasurer of the state 
republican campaign committee, died yesterday (27 Oct 1912) morning at 5 
o'clock at St. Vincent's Hospital. Mr. Bingham's wife and daughter Miss Effie 
Bingham were at the bedside when death came. The untimely end caused gloom to 
settle over the local and state Republican forces and many friends lament the 
passing of the staunch Republican and well known man.

The deceased was 60 years old, having been a resident of this state since 
his birth. At the time of his death he was a resident of Montgomery and a 
retired capitalist. He was born in Talladega in 1852.

He was a man well spoken of and highly honored by all who had known him 
during his life time. His death brought sorrow to many hearts. The 19th of 
October he contracted a bad cold which later developed into a case of 
pneumonia. [The Birmingham Herald, the 28th.]

Besides his widow, Mr. Bingham leaves a brother J.A. Bingham of Talladega 
and the following children:

T.C. Bingham Jr. of Roanoke

L.A. Bingham of Roanoke

M.S. Bingham of New Decatur

Mrs. O.B. Cornelius of Ashland

Misses Ola and Effie Bingham of Montgomery

T.C. and L.A. Bingham and M. Schuessler from Roanoke attended the funeral in 
Talladega on Monday.
