Jan. 21 1905 Montgomery, Alabama s/o J.G. Jones Jr. and M. E. Bayne* "The funeral of Mr. Charles L. Jones, the young man who committed suicide by shooting himself Saturday afternoon in the basement of the Winter Loeb & Co. Wholesale grocery house on Commerce Street, Where he held a good position, took place at 3:30 o'clock yesterday afternoon from his late residence, 210 Pelham Street, and was well attended by his friends. A number of pretty floral tributes were laid on the bier by his friends as tokens of their esteem and love, so shocked by his rash act. Rev. Charles A. Stakeley, pastor of the First Baptist Church, of which Mr. Jones was a member, officiated. Interment was made in Oakwood Cemetery." *Mary E. Bayne is the oldest daughter of S. P. Bayne and H.A. Day
