MITCHELL, William Earl, 52, a resident of Montgomery, Alabama passed away 
Sunday, April 18, 2010 at his home. He is survived by his wife, Vicky D. 
Mitchell,; daughters, Shanna Marie Mitchell, Sabrina Ann Mitchell, and sons, 
William (Billy) E. Mitchell, Jr., Daniel Carl Mitchell, Robert Wayne Mitchell; 
sister, Patricia Ann Mitchell Ledbetter, brother, Edward Wayne Mitchell. 
Services will be announced at a later date by White Chapel-Greenwood Funeral 
Home. 

William Earl Mitchell was predeceased by his parents, James Edward Mitchell
and Della Marie Smith Mitchell (born July 27, 1939,died April 12, 2005)long-
time residents of Montgomery, Alabama; and sister, Martha Dean Mitchell Crane 
Grimes.




Additional Comments:
In Supreme Court of Alabama, October Term, 2007-2008 (1060356) in case Ex parte 
William Earl Mitchell, a legal precedent was established for Alabama Workers' 
Compensation Law in the courts' finding that "a scooter could be 
considered "other apparatus" reasonably necessary to return Mitchell to a level 
of basic functioning pursuant to the new standard and could therefore be 
compensable under Section 25-5-77(a)."  [In re: Perry and Williams, Inc. v. 
William Earl Mitchell (Montgomery Circuit Court, CV-98-312; Civil Court of 
Appeals, 2050508].
