Death Notices From the Montgomery Advertiser

January 20, 1881:

Major Humphrey S. SHELTON died at Carrollton on the 5th day of January, and 
at his death was in his 70th year. From early manhood he has been a citizen of 
that county, residing most of his time at Pickensville.
