Calvert ==================================================================== October 2002 Sarah Amanda Palmer Murrell (1837-1909) The Montgomery Advertiser on 8 April 1909 carried the following obituary notice for Sarah Amanda Palmer, daughter of Eliza Tankersley and Josiah Palmer and widow of David Westcott Murrell (1833-1905): "Mrs. David Murrell, 79 years old, died in her home on the old Murrell plantation, near Tyson's Station, yesterday morning. The funeral services will be held at the home today and the interment will be in the family burying ground on the plantation. [The old Palmer-Murrell Cemetery on the Old Federal Road on land previously owned by Josiah Palmer, her father, where her husband is also buried]. "Mrs. Murrell is survived by several children, among them Sergeant Troy Murrell of the Montgomery Police Department."
