Mary Josephine Hereford born in Virginia to John Herriford and Jemima Ramey 
about 1844 became the second wife of Thomas Randolph Carter around 1861 in Hope 
Hull Alabama.  The only child that I find born to them was Sarah Elizabeth 
Carter and she married Levi Benjamin Cooper - he had worked on their farm.  
Parents of Levi were born in Chambers County:  Sarah F Lee and Charner P Cooper.

Levi and Sarah had Susie Mae Cooper who married James Brooks in Montgomery and 
there is a Brooks-Cooper family plot at Greenwood Cemetery.

Mary Josephine is buried at Oakwood.

Additional Comments:
Mary buried her husband next to his first wife Lacy Bozeman and their children, 
on their old farm in Hope Hull at what is sometimes called Stokes-Carter 
Cemetery but there are more Bozemans buried there.
