This is to certify that I gave my free will and consent for Daniel T. Fitchett to marry 
my daughter, Mary Bostick, September 17th, 1822.

Montgomery County     }

Know all men by these presents that we Daniel T. Fitchett and William Graham are held 
and firmly bound unto his excellency Israel Pickens, Governor of the state and his 
successors in office, in the penal sum of two hundred dollars for the payment of 
which will and truly to be made we bind ourselves and each every of our heirs, executors 
or administrators jointly and severely firmly by their presents ruled with our seals 
and dated the 17th day of September A.D., 1822

The condition of the above obligation is said that if there be no lawful cause why 
Daniel T. Fitchett and Mary Bostick should not be joined together in the holy union 
of matrimony then this obligation to be void otherwise to remain in full force and virtue.

To any ordained Minister of the Gospel, any Judge of the Circuit or County Court or 
Justice of the Peace for said County, Greetings.  You are hereby authorized to celebrate 
the rites of matrimony between Mr. Daniel T. Fitchett and Miss Mary Bostick and this shall 
be your sufficient authority for so doing.  Given under my hand and seal the 17 day of 
September A.D. 1822 and 47 years of American Independence.
