Courts or Justice of the peace for said County, Greetings:  You are hereby authorized 
to celebrate the rites of matrimony between James B. Merryweather and Sophia L. A. 
Tallaferro and this shall be your sufficient authority for so doing.

Given under my hand and seal this 25th day of September A.D. one thousand Eight hundred 
and thirty and of American Independence the 55th year.
