Courts or Justice of the peace for said County, Greetings:  You are hereby 
authorized to celebrate the rites of matrimony between Sherwood B. Norman 
and Eliza Maddox and this shall be your sufficient authority for so doing.

Given under my hand and seal this 9th day of april A.D. one thousand Eight
hundred and twenty seven and of American Independence the 51st year.
