The State of Alabama
Montgomery County

In the name of God Amen

I John Browning of the state and county aforesaid do make this my last will and 
testament in the manner following, to wit:

I give to my children each one cow and calf.

I desire that my wife, Elizabeth Browning, shall hold my land and other 
property of every kind for and during her natural life.  I then will that after 
her death if any remains for it to be Equally divided between all my children.

I do hereby Constitute my said wife Elizabeth Browning Executrix to this my 
last will and testament.

Signed sealed and acknowledged the second day of May in the year of our Lord 
one thousand eight hundred and thirty in the presence of witnesses.

Personally appeared in Open Court – A. Hartley and G. Shackleford, two of the 
Subscribing witnesses to the within will and made oath that they were present 
and saw John Browning Execute the within Instrument as his last will and testament that the testator was of 
sound and disposing mind at the execution thereof that they witnessed the same in the presence of the 
testator at his request and in the presence of each other.
   Sworn to 19th July 1830 in Open Court.
