As with all information of this type, you are strongly encouraged to check legitmate sources to confirm what is told. Henry H. Bostwick was the son of Jonathan Bostwick and Martha Elliott. Jonathan left a will in Williamsburg Co., SC that names Henry as his son. Henry's wife, Ann, named in the following will, was the daughter of John Hickson, also of Williamsburg Co., SC who also names her in his will as Ann Bostwick. Executor Richard S(essions) Hickson was Ann's brother. The witnesses to this will were William B(rowning) Haralson, first cousin to William F. Browning who as stated in the will was Henry's son-in-law. Samuel Ansley and Isaac Smith are not related that I know of. Henry and Ann's children were: Margaret Eliza Bostwick, b. September 1809, d. October 8, 1839, married William Frederick Browning, son of John and Nancy Peebles Browning, before 1825. She is buried in the Mt. Gilead Church Cemetery, Lowndes County, AL John H. Bostwick, born about 1811, died Jan. 27, 1880, married 1st Permelia Browning, sister of William Frederick Browning, on February 4, 1836, Lowndes County, she died on November 22, 1849 and John married 2nd Julia A. Berry. Robert Bostwick, born 1812, died 1824 Sarah Ann P Bostwick, b. abt 1813, married Elias Daniel on September 1, 1831, Lowndes County, AL Mary Caroline Bostwick, b. July 19, 1819, d. March 4, 1885, married Asa Thomas May on July 10, 1834 in Benton, Lowndes Co., AL. Asa died in Texas in 1850 and Mary returned to Lowndes County to raise her family. She is buried in the Benton Cemetery. Will of Henry H. Bostwick Montgomery County, Alabama Will Book Vol. 2, page 15 In the Name of God Amen. I, Henry H. Bostwick, of the county of Montgomery and state of Alabama, being weak in body but of sound mind and memory, do make and ordain this my Last Will and Testament in manner and for following: In the first place, I give my soul to Almighty God who gave it to me and my body to the dust from whence it came to be entered (interred) in a decent and Christian like manner and as regards the goods with which it has pleased God to bless me in the world, I give and bequeath as follows, to wit: _____ It is my will and desire that all my just debts be paid after which it is my wish that my Executors pay my son-in-law, William F. Browning, one hundred and twenty five dollars. 2nd It is my will and desire that all my property be kepts together for the maintenance and support of my family as long as my wife remains single or until here death should she not think proper to alter her condition by marriage. In the event of her intermarriage she is to have a child's part of the estate with my children or should she remain single until her death after that event I wish all my personal property equally divided amongst my children my daughter Eliza Browning __ ____ 3rd In addition to my son John's equal share of the personal property with the rest of my children as above stated, I give and bequeath unto him the tract of land whereon I now live containing as is supposed one hundred and fifty acres and also my watch. 4th Should any of my children be under age at the death or intermarriage of my wife, it is my desire that guardians be appointed for them. Lastly: I do nominate and appoint Richard S. Hickson, William F. Browning Executors and my beloved wife, Ann Bostwick, Executrix of this my Last Will and Testament In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this the twenty third day of December in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred and twenty five.
