Jackson November 1847 State of Alabama County of Perry Know all me by these presents, that we ABNER G. McCRAW, LEONARD BUTLER and JEPTHAH H. McCRAW are held and firmly bound unto JOHN H. GRAHAM, Judge of the County Court of the county aforesaid in the sum of twelve hundred dollars to be paid to the said JOHN P. GRA- HAM or his successor in office to which payments well and truly to be made, we bind our-selves, our heirs, executors and administrators, jointly, severally and firmly by these presents sealed with our seals, and dated this fifth day of November A. D. 1847. The condition of the above obligation is such that, whereas the above bounded A. G. McCRAW has been duly appointed Guardian of the persons and Estates of, SILAS C. JACKSON, CLARY M. JACKSON, JOHN B. JACKSON, MARY J. JACKSON, ELSA F. JACKSON, JAMES W. JACKSON, and REBECCA J. JACKSON minors & children of A. W. and J. F. JACKSON & heirs of CHARLES CROW deceased, for if the said ABNER G. McCRAW shall well and truly perform all the duties which are or may be by Law required of him as such Guardian, then the above obligation to be void, otherwise remain in full force day and date above written. JOHN ANDERSON Justice of the Peace Additional Information: Abraham Wyche Jackson was the son of Green B. Jackson and Clara Yeates. He was born on March 27, 1805 in Greene County, Georgia. At the time of this Guardianship appointment for his children, he was living in DeSoto Parish, Louisiana. He died on March 3, 1880 in Coryell County, Texas. Abraham was a Baptist minister and planter. Jane F. Jackson was the daughter of Charles Crow and Sarah Harlan. She was born on May 9, 1805 in Laurens District, South Carolina and died about 1841 in Perry County. At the time of this Guardianship appointment, A. W. Jackson was married to Sarah M. Corgill of Dallas County, Alabama. Charles Crow died on June 12, 1845 in Perry County, Alabama. He was the pastor at Ocmulgee Church at the time of his death. This Guardianship was about settling his estate. Crow was born 1770 in Chatham County, North Carolina but grew up in Newberry County, South Carolina. Abner Gary McCraw was the minister at Ocmulgee Church in Perry County at the time of this Guardianship. He was born on June 5, 1803 in Newberry County, South Carolina moved to Alabama in 1818 with his parents Stephen McCraw and Ann Gary. A. G. was born June 4, 1803 and died January 14, 1861 at Selma, Alabama. Jeptha Hays McCraw was the brother of Abner Gary McCraw and the son of Stephen McCraw and Ann Gary. He was a prosperous planter and was born in 1797 in Newberry District, South Carolina. He married Juliana V. Hale and moved to DeSoto Parish, Louisiana shortly after endorsing this Guardianship. Leonard Butler was a successful planter and businessman living in the Oak Grove Beat and was a leader in the congregation at Ocmulgee Church and Masonic Order. He died on February 20, 1851 of typhoid fever in Perry County and is buried in the cemetery at Ocmulgee Church. Leonard was the son of Dr. Ephraim Butler and married Judith P. Williams on September 22, 1831. John P. Graham was born on July 26, 1797 and died in Marion, Alabama on September 21, 1872. He was a soldier in the War of 1812, and he married Martha L. McKerral in December 1838 in Perry County. At the time of this Guardianship appointment, Graham was a judge in the Perry County, Alabama court. He was born in 1797 in Tennessee. John Anderson was born about 1777 in Ireland and died on September 9, 1852. He was a planter living in the Oak Grove Beat and a neighbor of Abner G. McCraw, Leonard Butler, Jeptha H. McCraw and the Reverend Charles Crow. He is buried at Ocmulgee Church in Perry County, Alabama. Silas C. Jackson was born November 3, 1827 in Perry County, Alabama and died on March 4, 1894 in Shelby County, Texas. He served in Company A of the 28th Texas Cavalry during the War for Southern Independence. Clara Matina Jackson was born July 1, 1831 in Perry County, Alabama and died on July 13, 1869 in DeSoto Parish, Louisiana. She married John Alexander Graves from South Carolina on July 17, 1849 in DeSoto Parish, Louisiana. Her daughter Frances J. Graves married Frank Reno LeBaron, the transcriber's great grandfather. John Beauford Jackson was born on May 24, 1830 in Perry County, Alabama. He married Ann Elizabeth Mosely on November 7, 1853 in DeSoto Parish, Louisiana and served in Company B of the 28th Louisiana Infantry Regiment during the War for Southern Independence. Mary J. Jackson is actually Sarah Mary E. Jackson who was born in 1829 in Perry County, Alabama and married Comadore D. R. McGee on October 2, 1845 in Perry County, Alabama and moved to DeSoto Parish, Louisiana. Elsa Frances Jackson was born in 1835 in Perry County, Alabama. James W. Jackson was born in 1836 in Perry County, Alabama. Rebecca J. Jackson was bon on September 22, 1838 in Perry County, Alabama and died on April 5, 1904 in McCulloch County, Texas.
