NW1/4 of SW1/4 of Sec. 23 Township 19, Range 8 
Written: October 17, 1856

Know all men by these presents that we Evan and Sarah Eubanks of the County of 
Perry and the State of Alabama for and in consideration of the sum of seventy-
five dollars to us in hand paid by Jack F. Cocke the receipt whereof ever do 
hereby acknowledged do hereby grant, bargained, sell, endorse (?), and confirm 
unto the said Jack F. Cocke all that lot or parcel of land known and described 
as follows viz: NW1/4 of SW1/4 of Sec. 23 Township 19, Range 8 containing in 
all forty acres more or less.
	To have and to hold the afore granted premises to the said Jack F. 
Cocke, his heirs and assigns to their use and behoof forever, and we do 
covenant with the said Jack F. Cocke, his heirs and assigns that we are 
lawfully seized in the fee of the afore granted premises that they are free 
from all encumbrances that eve have good right to sell and convey the said to 
the said Jack F. Cocke, his heirs, and consigns forever against the lawful 
claims and demands of all persons.
	In witness whereof we, the said Evan and Sarah Eubanks, have hereunto 
set our hands and seals this October 17, 1856.				Evan

Signed, sealed and delivered in presence of O. S. Massey and Burrell Eubanks


Additional Comments:
Perry County Deed Record Book N, page 69, located in the Perry Co., AL, 
Courthouse, Marion, Perry County, AL.  Evan and his family moved to Anderson 
Co., TX, after this sale.  Burrell Eubanks was the brother of Evan Eubanks.  
O. S. Massey was his brother-in-law, married to Evan's sister Mary Matilda 
Eubanks.
