Jeremiah Franklin Morton, son of Green Berry Morton and Winnifred "Winncie" 
Ussery, was born 15 Feb 1836 in Randolph Co., Al. The Morton family moved to 
Perry Co., Al. sometime after 1840. Jeremiah and Green were farmers and 
potters.

Jeremiah F Morton married Margaret Stewart on 25 July 1858 in Perry Co., Al. 
Margaret, daughter of Andrew J Stewart and Mary Johnson, was born 1 Sept 1837 
in Randolph Co., Al., and died 29 July 1921 in Perry Co., Al.

They are buried in the Morton Family Cemetery in the Sprott Community.

They had the following children: Mary Winnie Morton who married James Henry 
Dunkin, Martha Susan Morton who married John Wesley Nichols, Lucy "Jane" 
Morton who married Wash Nichols, Elizabeth Caroline Morton who married ? 
Hughey, Willie Frances Morton, Jehu Morton married Mattie Green, John Morton, 
and Alice Morton.
