In fond remembrance of our dear mother. 4 (Andrew & Susan Shepherd his wife share the same marker) Born in Tenn. Here our dear father is sweetly sleeping low in the tomb his spirit and glory forever to bloom. Where angels are singing and pleasures do roll in heaven, sweet heaven the home of the soul. 5 When time has ceased rolling her body will rise with all the bright millions that people the skies. We'll meet our dear mother on heavens bright shore. When parents and children are parted no more. 6 Sleep on dear husband and take thy rest in Jesus arms forever bless. Today this cemetery has almost been overtaken by the forest. I have cleared some of the small trees and brush away from a small area. This cemetery is located about one (1) mile south of Marvin Chapel Cemetery, which is about 5 miles east of Carrollton, Al. There are many graves marked only by field stones. The land was first owned by Andrew Shepherd. Later Samuel (Mac) Windle bought the land. Today Mr. Brock owns this land. James Andrew Windle Jr. on 21 May 1983 wrote the following about the Windle cemetery: "Mrs W.J. (Itie Lou McDaniel) McCool lived on the property once owned by S. M. Windle. Mrs McCool knew S.M. Windle Jr.,known as Mac. She and her husband moved onto the place in January, 1932. She reports that the Windle cemetery contains many graves, was rather large, with both whites and blacks buried therein. When I checked the cemetery on 5-21-83, only six (6) markers could be found, with not a one for a Windle. J.A.Windle Jr."
