They are buried at Pleasant Hill Primitive Baptist Church, near the Needmore Community of Pike County, Alabama. Their known children were: Matilda Johnson (m. J. E. B. "Lawyer") Hattaway; James Thomas Johnson (m. 1st Ella Harris, 2nd Valle Gunter); Minnie Johnson (married Calvin Pool); Mary L.. Johnson (never married); Willie Johnson (never married; was deaf-mute); Mittie Adell Johnson (married Willie Jacksosn Floyd); John Luther Johnson (m. 1st Eula Thompson; 2nd Arrie Sharpe); Viola Johnson (married 1st Hilary Herbert Harris, 2nd J. E. B. "Lawyer" Hattaway, 3rd a Phillips); George Solomon Johnson (died at age 10, cause unknown); Gertrude Johnson (married Walter Monroe Reeves). From which of Thomas and Margarette Johnson's children did Leatha Worthington, Thelma Peoples, Irene Dubose, Orbra Pool, Andrew J. Bracewell, Minnie E. Bracewell, and Dora M. Bracewell descend from? They are listed as grandchildren and great-grandchildren in the estate-settlement papers. Any information would be appreciated. IN THE MATTER OF THE ESTATE OF THOMAS JOHNSON, DECEASED IN PROBATE COURT, SPECIAL TERM. DECEMBER 12, 1922. Whereas, certain lands, to-wit: The W ½ of NE ¼, NE ¼ of SW ¼, and NW ¼ of SE ¼, Section 34, Township 11 and Range 21, situate in Pike County, Alabama, belonging to the estate of Thomas Johnson, deceased, has been sold by A. M. Baker, Commissioner duly and legally appointed by this Court to sell said lands; and whereas said lands sold for the sum of Four Thousand Dollars ($4,000.00) which sale has been in all things duly ratified and confirmed by this Court, and said sum having been turned over to the Judge of this Court by said Commissioner, to be distributed among the heirs to said estate: And whereas it has been made to appear by evidence to the satisfaction of this Court that the heirs to said estate are as follows, to-wit: James T. Johnson, Mary L. Johnson, Mittie A. Floyd, Viola Hattaway, John L. Johnson, and Gertrude Reeves, each of whom are entitled to one-seventh (1/7th)of the proceeds of said lands; and Leatha Worthington, Irene Dubose, Thelma Peoples, and Orbra Pool, each of whom are entitled to one thirty-fifth portion (1/35th) of the proceeds of said estate; and Andrew J. Bracewell, Dora M. Bracewell, and Minnie E. Bracewell, each of whom are entitled to one one-hundred fiftieth (1/150th) interest in the proceeds of said estate. And whereas the costs of this procedure and taxes due on said lands amount to the sum of Two Hundred Sixty-Five and 14/100 Dollars ($265.14), leaving a balance of $3,734.86 to be distributed among said heirs, now therefore it is hereby ordered and decreed by this Court, that the costs of this procedure and the taxes due on said lands first be paid out of the proceeds of the sale of said lands, and the sum of $3,734.86 to be distributed among said heirs in the following manner: To James T. Bracewell, Dora M. Bracewell, and Minnie E. Bracewell, by the Probate Court of Covington County, Alabama, in which said minors reside; it is therefore: Ordered and decreed that the distributive shares of Orbra Pool, Andrew J. Bracewell, Dora M. Bracewell, and Minnie E. Bracewell, said minors, in the estate of Thomas Johnson, deceased, be turned over to said James T. Johnson, guardian as aforesaid.
