Book H p. 213 State of Alabama Pike County This indenture made and entered into this 7th day of December in the year of Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty between Jackson Anderson of the one part and James and Thomas Mires/Meres? of the other part both of the State and County aforesaid witnesseth that the said Jackson Anderson for and in consideration of two hundred dollars to him in hand paid at and before the signing sealing and delivery of these presents have granted bargained and conveyed and by these presents do grant bargain sell and convey to the said Thomas Mires/Meires? his heirs and assigns all that tract or parcel of land situate lying and being in the State and County aforesaid and Known and distinguished in plan of said county by being the South West North of South West Fourth of Section number twelve and range twenty-two containing forty acres more or less to have and to hold to their own proper use benefit and behoof and I the said Jackson Anderson will warrant and forever defend the right and title of the above bargained premises to his heirs and Thomas Meires his heirs Executors Administrators and assigns from me my heirs Executors administrators and assigns and against the claim or claims of all other person whatever in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this the day first above written in Jackson his X mark Anderson (seal) presence of s/Silas Reeks s/A.C. Townsend JP The State of Alabama Pike County I, A. C. Townsend an acting Justice of the Peace in and for said County hereby certify that Jackson Anderson grantor above named personally came before me on the 7th day of Decr. 1850 and there on examination acknowledge the signature of the above Deed to be his free act and deed date and date above. s/A.C. Townsend State of Alabama Barbour County This is to certify I Fanny Anderson the lawful wife of Jackson Anderson the marker of the written deed appeared before me Charles T. Ziteraner an acting Justice of the Peace in and for the said County and after being taker separate and apart from her said husband and duly examined according to law sayeth that she willingly and of her own free will does sign her right of dower to the within Deed and that she does not sign it through threats or fear of her said Husband acknowledge and signed before me this 21st day of November 1850.
