JAMES SHIELDS & WILLIAM BIRD TO EVERETT McLENDON
Pike County, Alabama

A-186, Indenture for James Shields, Senior and William Bird, Dec. 5, 1830; 
Sold to Everett McLendon

The State of Alabama}
Pike County} 

This Indenture made this 5th of December AD one thousand eight hundred and 
thirty between James Shields Sen. and William Bird of the State and County 
aforesaid of the one part and Everett McLendon of the other part of the same 
place Witnesseth that the said James Shields Senior. & William Bird for and 
in consideration of the sum of one hundred and ninety five dollars to them in 
hand paid by the said Everett McLendon at or before the sealing and delivery 
of these presents hath bargained sold and conveyed and by these presents do 
freely grant bargain sell unto me 3rd: Everett McLendon his heirs & assigns 
forever in fee simple one piece or parcel of land as follows:

The North East quarter of the North west quarter of section seven in Township 
eleven of range twenty-two in the district of lands anlyect? to sale at 
Sparta Alabama containing forty acres & 7X/100 of an acres the said land 
lying and being in the county aforesaid to have and to hold the 
appurtenances there unto belonging unto him the said Everett McLendon his 
heirs and assigns forever which piece or parcel of land the said James 
Shields Sen. and William Bird will warrant and defend his right and title 
unto the said Everett McLendon his heirs and assigns forever in fee simple 
against the claims or claims of all persons whatsoever.
