ALGenWeb Archive File Manager - Carolyn Golowka October 2000 REUBIN ANDERSON TO HENRY JOICE Book B p. 171 Same deed with recording data and downer release in Book E p. 268-269 Know all men by these presents that I, Reubin Anderson of the County of Montgomery and State of Alabama for and in consideration of six hundred dollars to me in hand paid by Henry Joice of the County of Pike the Receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge do hereby grant bargain sell enfeoff and confirm unto the said Henry Joice the following describe land to wit: The west half section Two (2) Township nine (9) and Range Twenty two (22) with the exception of one square acre of the North west quarter in North west Corner of said Tract lying in the county of Pike in the State aforesaid previously deed to the Methodist Episcopal Church. To have and to hold the aforegranted premises to the said Henry Joice his heirs and assigns to their use and behoof forever and I do covenant with the said Henry Joice his heirs and assigns that I am lawfully seized in fee of the aforegranted premises that they are free from all incumbrances with the exception of the aforesaid Square acre as mentioned above that I have a good right to sell and convey the same to the said Henry Joice his heirs and assigns and that I will warrant and defend the said premises to the said Henry Joice his heirs and assigns forever against the lawful claims and demands of all persons. Robert Parker JP The State of Alabama Montgomery County Know all men by these presents that I, Margaret A. Anderson wife of Reubin Anderson the Grantor within named for and in consideration of one dollar to me in hand paid the receipts whereof I do hereby acknowledge do hereby remise release relinquish and forever quit claim to Henry Joice the grantee within named his heirs and assigns all right title interest and claims to downer which I now have as the wife of the said Reubin Anderson or may hereafter have as his widow in and to the lands and premises within described.
