ADAIR of Pike Co., AL The State of Alabama Pike County This Indenture made this 6th day of April in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight hundred and fifty seven between John ROCHELLE of the state of South Carolina, Edgefield District of the one part and John D. ADAIR, Son in Law of the said John ROCHELLE of the county of Pike and State of Alabama of the other part. Witnesseth that the said John ROCHELL for and in consideration of the Natural Love and Affection which he has and bears to his said Son in Law, John D. ADAIR as well as the aid concern? and support he gives me in my old age have given granted and conveyed and by these presence doth give grant and convey unto the said John D. ADAIR all the money lands or any6 other Bounty which may now be due me or may be obtained hereafter from the Congress of the United States by virtue of any donation or indemnity on account of services rendered to the government by my father Capt. John ROCHELLE durning the Revolutionary War and I do hereby give and grant to the said John D. ADAIR his heirs and assigned full power to ask for demand and receive sue for and recover to their own use all the aforesaid interest I now have or may hereafter on Account of my father’s Revolutionary Services and to give all pessary recipes discharges and acquaintance for the same or any past thereof. To have and to hold the said conveyed interest to the said John D. ADIAR his heirs and assigns to their own use and benefit forever. In witness whereof the said John ROCHELLE has hereunto se t his hand and seal the day and year above written. Interlined before signing. Jno. THURSTON, a Justice of the Peace in and for said County of Pike and and state of ALA hereby certify that G. D. ADAIR a subscribing witness to the foregoing conveyance known to me appeared before me this day and being sworn stated that John ROCHELL the Grantor in the conveyance voluntarily executed the same in his presence and in the presence of the other subscribing witness on the day the same bears date that he attested the same in the presence of the grantors and of the other witness and that such other witness subscribed his name as a witness in his presence.
