ANDERSON TO JOHN COMPTON State of Alabama} Pike County} This Indenture made and entered in on the 25th day of November, AD. Between W. E. Anderson & John Compton Witnesseth that said W. E. Anderson for and in consideration of the sum of __? hundred dollars to him in hand paid at and before the delivery hereof, that bargained and sold and by these presents do grant and convey to the said John Compton his heirs and assigns forever that tract or parcel of Land known and described as follows, to all on the East side of the Road of NE 1/4 of SE 1/4 of Section 10, Township 8, Range 22 containing Twelve acres of land, more or less situate in District of Land subject to entry at Elba, Alabama. To him the John Compton his heirs and assigns forever to their use and behoof. And I do further covenant and agree with said John Compton that at the time of the delivery hereof I am the lawful owner of the above granted, and seized thereof in fee simple absolute that I have a good and lawful right to sell deed convey the said premises, that I will warrant and defend therein the peaceable and quiet possession of the Said John Compton his heirs and assigns forever.
