Padgett in Butler Co. Greenville Al. 8th Jan 1868 his death occured on the 25th Jun 1900 town of Brewtonville, Ark. She is a resident of Hills. Co. continously resided in the St of Fl. the last 9 years has lived in Fl. for 22 years but was away about 3-4 years. She ownes nothing She has been granted a pension from the St of Fl. under Certificate # 3640 her address is 406 Michigan Ave Tampa Hills. Co. Tampa She signs Esther A. Williams Attest: Lillin G. Fl. having been out west for his health. legally marrried to said soldier prior to 1sth Jan 1885 at Greenville Al. resident of St is not otherwise enabled or in a position to earn a livelihood, and has no income from any source sufficient for livelihood; and that she has not purposely disposed of any property for the purpose of availing herself of the provisions of this act. Letters written by hand to Mr. A. C. Croom Nov 8 1909 her address is now 105 Woodlawn Ave. Tampa Fl. Letter Mr. C. M. Knott by John D.or G. Robles dated 13 Nov 1909 Dear Sir and friend this is to inform you that I have lived in Hills Co. ever since the year 1853 and I was personally acquainted with Frank or Squire as we use to call him he was staying with Col. O. B. Hart before the Civil War and we use to be together continually He went to Texas and then came back some time ago. I use to know his father and mother also. Yours Respectifully John G. Robles Her pension was not allowed for not claiming continuous residence in the state since 1895 on Dec 6 1909. Letter written to Hon A. C. Croom Comptroller Tallahasse Fl. Nov 13 1909 from Mr. C. M. Knott stating her husband was in Leesburg over 18 years ago He was a school teacher near Lady Lake. NO doubt Senator I. N. Withers knew him there. He went west on account of sickness of a family member that Tampa was his home before the war. (note in letters it appears to look like T. but it is "F" he is refered to in letters as "Frank" Wife: Esther Padgett Application Co. & Year Hills Co. 1905 This was the son of #901 John ALLEN WILLIAMS b.1800 SC (1850 census Pike Co. Al.)and grandson of James/Kesiah Williams(census 1830-40-50 Pike Co. Al.) this application contains 19 pages. In one of Esther's letters she mentions: went out west to Col. for his health stayed with her sister Mrs. MATHEWS, their young son Johnny died in Col. and dau Katie (Horne) was with them. This #901 John ALLEN WILLIAMS were not on the 1860 Pike Co. census it was beleived that John A. and Catharine had died but letter from Mr. Robles states he had been in Tampa since 1853 and he not only knew Squire but his parents.
