"I" 15th Alabama Regiment met July 18th at the residence of Joseph Bell in this city. The following members were present: S. H.Burgess of Shady Grove H.A. Thompson of Goshen I.N. Andress of Brundidge T. B. Raily of Insley John McLindon of Banks Green A. McLindon of Tenville( town name not clear) Isaac N. Newman of Shellhorn S. B. Smyth of Troy J.W. Harris of Troy Joseph Bell of Troy T. M. Murphree as honorary member of Troy The proceedings were as follows. Roll call of the last meeting. A talk by T.M Murphree, who was followed by Joseph Bell, telling of his recent trip to Richmond and other points of interest where this company did service during the war. The following resolutions were adopted Resolved 1st- That it is with deep sorrow we have learned of the death of two of our beloved comrades, J.P. Hill and F. D. Champion and that there were none braver nor truer to the Southern cause and none worthy of greater honor. 2nd That we tender the families of our deceased brothers our heartfelt sympathy. 3rd That we greatly sympathize with comrade Isaac Newman on account of his severe affliction and have responded in a small way to his financial aid. 4th That we tender our thanks to comrades Joe Bell and J.W. Harris and their good wives for their kind hospitality in their splendid dinner and "ice cold lemonade" served us during the day, which added so much to the pleasure of the occassion. signed: Joseph Bell- chairmen J.
