The story goes that Cornelius Black married the mother of Jack's wife. Later Jack and his wife separated, the wife going to the home of Cornelius Black and her mother to reside. Jack had some of the children in his possession, while she had the rest. It is said that Cornelius Black was in Troy yesterday and it is supposed that he went by Jack's home and endeavored to take the children, when he was shot down by Jack, dying later from the wounds. It is stated that Cornelius Black was drinking, and that Jack tried to get im to stay out of the house, but Cornelius entered and drew his knife on the son, when then raised his gun and fired. Word has been received at the court house that the burial will occur this afternoon and that Jack Black will come to town tomorrow morning and surrender.
