C. C. Grantham, who resides on Glenwood, Route 2, is undoubtedly the holder of 
the record for killing the biggest rattlesnake of the year.
Mr. Grantham brought to this office Saturday proof of his "kill" when he 
produced a string of 21 fully developed rattles and a button. The snake he said 
measured six feet in length and was about the size of the average man's thigh. 
The snake was discovered in the Big Creek swamp when the killer almost stepped 
upon it.
