Harvey, Jr., son of W. H. Harvey of Troy, is now away on a jaunt which would doutless fill the desires of every 18-year-old boy. A jaunt filled with new experiences, travel into foreign lands and a taste of hard work and unique pleasures that are a part of the new stock in trade of the hardy "boys of the sea". Young Harvey left his home in Troy several weeks ago, his entire stock of funds consisting of from $80.00 to $100.00, according to his folks here. He shipped on a freighter at Mobile and after a 4,700 mile trip docked at Havre,France. He evidently did some kind of work on the frighter to pay passage, the trip consuming 14 days. After reaching the French shore he made trips to Paris and other cities in France, later going to England and touring that "tight little isle" on bicycle. The bicycle is a favorite mode of locomotion in England as automobiles are not so plentiful as they are in the good old U. S. Going to Liverpool from London, he shipped on the S. S. Artgus, bound for Boston. Before heading to Boston, the ship went to Hamburg and Bremen in Germany and is now on the high seas. This will be about a 15 days trip and he is about due in the city of beans. He is making this voyage on a "workaway" basis. William will have plenty of experience to relate to his boy friends and elders when he again lands at home in Troy.
