I. And A. D. Howell, of Oglethorpe, Ga., are operating under the firm name of Howell Bros. Are making ready for the opening of a new small enterprise for this city, that of buying dogwood timber and making shuttle blocks. The plant will be located on West Church Street, just to the rear of Rosenberg Bros. This firm operates a mill of this type in Oglethorpe. Mr. W. I. Howell has moved to Troy to look after the plant here. Dogwood is one of the hardest of woods and is used in making Shuttles for cotton mills. Howell Bros. will not make the complete shuttles in Troy, but will buy the wood and make blocks to be sold to finishing plants.
