BECK, DR. CHESTER KEITH (b. 7-23-1909 Arkansas – d. 2-11-1980 Alabama)

	Dr. Chester K. Beck, 70, died Monday at his home in Troy, Ala., Pike County. 
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the McGehee-Dillard Funeral Home
in Troy, with Rev. Ralph Jernigan conducting.  Burial will be in Green Hills
Memorial Park, Troy.
	Dr. Beck was a practicing physician in Troy from 1936 until he retired Feb. 1,
1979.  He was a graduate of University of Tennessee School of Medicine and
interned at Baptist Memorial Hospital, Memphis.  He had also attended Auburn
University, Auburn, Alabama.
	Survivors include his widow, Frances [Andrews] LeMay Beck of Troy, [whom he had
married in Arkansas in 1936]; three sons, Dr. Jere Beck of Troy, Dr. Ronald V.
Beck of Phenix City, Ala., and Keith Beck, Jr., of Milton, Fla.; two brothers,
Authur Beck of Montgomery, Ala., and Charles Beck of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; a
sister, Mrs. J. B. Clay of Palmdale, Calif.; two sisters-in-law, Ruth Trowsey of
Troy and Mrs. Eugene Beck of Houston, Tex.; six grandchildren; and several
nieces, nephews, and cousins.
	Active pallbearers will be Floyd Walters, G. O. Johnston, Wilmer Furlow, Bill
Phelps, Joe Watson, Tom Ed Moore, Dr. Frederick Cain, and Merrill Faircloth. 
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Pike County Medical Society and,
also, Dale Walley, Corley Chapman, Sr., and Aldridge Slaughter, Sr.
	Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Troy.
