Beasley - Pike Co., AL Today i received a Bible that is dated January 28, 1847. Inside was found the following obituary. There is no date on the newspaper clipping. B.B. Beasley Passes Away Near Banks B.B. Beasley, 84, died Saturday after a short illnes at his home, Banks, route one. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mary F. Beasley, one son, E.W. Beasley; two daughters, Mrs. Lee Smith, and Mrs. B.S. Parks, of Waco, Texas, and many other relatives who mourn his death. Funeral service was held from the home Sunday at 2 p.m., with the Rev. W.C. Hinson, officiating. "Never Grow Old" and "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere" were sung by Miss Bettie Cumbie, Woodrow Boone, Johnnie Kimbrel, Ora Haynes. Burial was at Pea River Presbyterian Church cemetery in Barbour county with Rhodes Funeral Home in charge. Pall bearers were: Gregory McKee, Max Tillery, J.C. Parks, Merton Fleming, Woods Baxter and Bufford Garrette. If you have any knowledge of this Beasley family, please email.
